Photography has been around since the early 1800's, but even the idea of it lingered in the 1500's. Throughout the centuries photography was a progress in work to the get that perfect picture. The first start to photography's development was the camera obscurawhich has been around since the dawn of time. It was a dark box that would bend light to project images on the inside wall, and although it wasn't a hard image photograph, it could still be use as an artists tool to trace and get a cleaner painting.
From there on people improved on the design such as the daguerrotype (1839) and the talbot type or calotype (1835). The daguerrotype was a fixed image on a silver plate that was processed through chemical reaction and could only be printed once. where as the talbot type was processed through light exposer and could be produced multiple times but the image was not as crisp as the daguerrotype
in 1851 the collodian wet plate process was developed. this process was the best of both techniques because it produced a clean and clear image that could be reproduced multiple times. the process was to coat a glass plate with collodian and then dip in in silver nitrate, put it into the camera to be exposed and then develop it instantly and leave it to dry. although this was an efficient way of photography, it wasn't easy, if the plate dried before the process was complete the photo would be ruined.
As time went on photography progressed and some points in time where photography peaked were -1890-George Eastman introduces the kodak camera -1925-Leica introduces the first "mini" camera -1907-first colour photos -1925-kodak improves colour prints for photography - 1937- first single lens reflex camera -1938 - automatic exposure introduced by Kodak -1939 - electronic flash developed -1947-first Poloroid camera -1954 -first high-speed film sold in stores -1959-first zoom lens -1966-Konica introduces first professional quality automatic exposure camera -1972 - Poloroid adds colour to its instant camera -1985 - Minolta introduces the first professional automatic focus camera -1987- canon creates its first "commercial still" video system -1991- kodak introduces photo cd system and digital camera
